Sports Update: Tuesday, November 7th

In Monday’s college basketball action, the No. 16 Kentucky Wildcats started their regular season with an impressive 86-46 victory over the New Mexico State Aggies at Rupp Arena. Rob Dillingham led the Wildcats with 17 points, while DJ Wagner contributed 13, Reed Shepherd scored 12 points and grabbed 5 rebounds, Justin Edwards added 12 points, and Antonio Reeves chipped in with 11. The WKU Hilltoppers also kicked off their regular season with a resounding 90-64 victory over Kentucky Wesleyan at Diddle Arena in Bowling Green. Logan McIntyre led the Hilltoppers with 15 points. They are set to face Wichita State this Thursday, with the game starting at 7:30 p.m., and you can listen to the broadcast on WTLO AM 1480/97.7 FM.

In Monday Night NFL action, the Los Angeles Chargers secured a 27-6 victory over the New York Jets.

Looking ahead to Friday in high school football, the second round of the Class 2A playoffs features an exciting matchup with Leslie Co. Eagles (7-4) taking on the Somerset Briar Jumpers (8-3). Somerset previously defeated the Eagles 36-13 in Hyden on October 20th.
