College Football:

Former University of Kentucky football player Vincent “Sweet Pea” Burns has passed away at the age of 43. Burns was a standout defensive tackle for the Wildcats from 2002 to 2004. During his college career, he was a three-year starter, two-year captain, and a two-time All-SEC player. Burns accumulated 37 tackles for a loss over his career, leaving a lasting impact on the program.

College Baseball:

UK Wildcats catcher Devin Burkes has announced his return to the Kentucky baseball program next season as a fifth-year senior. Burkes is highly regarded as one of the nation’s top defensive catchers and led Division I catchers in stolen bases with 19 this past season. In 2024, Burkes hit .239 in 60 games, with 49 runs, 14 doubles, a triple, three home runs, and 35 RBIs.

Friday Cincinnati Reds:

Cincinnati (47-50, 4th NL Central) resumes play after the All-Star break with a three-city, nine-game road trip that begins against the Washington Nationals (44-53, 4th NL East) on Friday at 6:45 PM.
