Sports Update: Friday, March 15th

On Thursday, high school baseball saw Somerset secure a 7-2 victory against East Jessamine, while Pulaski County triumphed over Clinton County with a commanding 10-1 win. Somerset Christian School also emerged victorious with an 8-5 win over Berea. In high school softball action, the Somerset Lady Briar Jumpers claimed a 9-7 victory over Wayne Co., while West Jessamine dominated with a 12-1 win against the Southwestern Lady Warriors.

In MLB’s Cactus League, the Texas Rangers defeated the Cincinnati Reds 7-4. Looking ahead to Friday, the Reds are set to take on the Kansas City Royals at 4:05p ET.

The Girls Sweet 16 Basketball Tournament at Rupp Arena showcased thrilling matchups on Thursday, including Bethlehem’s 56-49 win over Pikeville, Henderson County’s 43-39 victory against Owensboro, Sacred Heart’s 57-46 triumph over Clark County, and Cooper’s narrow 65-63 win over Danville Christian Academy.

Friday’s schedule promises more excitement with Bowling Green facing McCracken Co. at 11a, Butler taking on Franklin Co. at 1:30p, Sacred Heart battling Bethlehem at 6p, and Cooper challenging Henderson County at 8:30p.
