SCC Physical Therapist Assistant Program Celebrates Class of 2027 with Signing Ceremony

Somerset, KY– Somerset Community College (SCC) proudly welcomed its newly admitted Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) students during a special Signing Day ceremony on Tuesday afternoon in the Harold Rogers Student Commons Building on SCC’s Somerset Campus.

The event celebrated the achievements of 18 students who were officially welcomed into the highly competitive, selective admissions PTA program for the Class of 2027. Each student signed a letter of commitment to SCC’s PTA program in front of faculty, staff, family, and friends, marking the beginning of their journey into the field of physical therapy.

The program opened with remarks from SCC leadership and PTA Program Director Corey Moore, who expressed pride in the incoming class and the communities they represent.

“Our program’s success starts with excellent students.  Academic achievements are fantastic, but it’s the strong character of our students that truly sets SCC PTA apart. We seek students who truly want to make a difference in the lives of their future patients. Each member of the Class of 2027 has the desire to change lives for the better. We look forward to seeing them grow into excellent PTAs over the next two years.”

After the formal signings, students were introduced to their second-year mentors, a unique component of SCC’s PTA program that promotes peer guidance and support throughout the rigorous curriculum.

The Class of 2027 represents a broad geographic area, from Bowling Green to Lexington, and even as far as Indiana, demonstrating the program’s statewide impact and reputation.
